Autosave has disappeared from Word and Excel Pro - Microsoft Community
Well thanks to windows 10 it did an automatic update session without notifying me and i was away from my laptop after completing an assignment. The laptop had restarted automatically and updates were getting installed when i came back. Unluckily i forgot to save my work. After logging in my laptop i started word but there was no autosave file or document 1. I have checked the settings of word and tried to find the document in destination folder but there is no.
Can anyone of you help me in figuring out how to find the autosave files in windows 10? Don't tell me the conventional ways of finding the document, i have almost tried everything but it works for predecessor versions of window not windows I don't want to write the whole thing again so please if you have any solution share it with me.

There is no 'autosave' function in Word. There is only autosave recovery information, which works in the event of a crash. Your PC has not crashed it has been automatically updated. Windows has closed your document. The chances of recovering the document are slim to none. You need to change the update scheduling in Windows 10 to avoid updates taking place automatically. Exactly what is your situation? How long ago was it that you closed the document without saving it?

How satisfied are you with this reply? Thanks for your feedback, it helps us improve the site. Tried it already but didn't work. The autosave feature was enabled in word but the destination folder doesn't have the autosaved file.
